Assessment for the factual package takes the form of on-going, inbuilt assessment.
Two assessment proformas are incorporated into each unit, each with a different function.
1. The student assessment sheet:
details the teaching criteria for the particular unit
provides a space for student names so individual achievement can be recorded against each
criterion
ensures on-going assessment of the skills and knowledge that have been taught
ensures teaching, learning and assessing are intrinsically linked
assists with the aggregation of data for reporting
2. The anecdotal assessment sheet:
details the teaching criteria for the particular unit - ‘at a glance’
assists teachers to record general observations throughout teaching sequences. These observations may be related to follow–up work for all students, comments about individual students etc.
is ideal to record teaching reflections and/or program evaluation for the unit
